Pleurocrypta porcellanae
Native
As with other species in this genus, the larger female is asymetrical and pyriform in shape with prominent coxal plates and biramous pleopods. In the smaller male, the pleon somites are fused.
This mainly sublittoral species has been recorded in Northumberland (Sheader 2000), the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, in the Firth of Clyde, in Blacksod Bay, Mayo, and occasionally elsewhere. It is found in the gill chamber cavity of its host, Pisidia longicornis (Long-clawed Porcelain Crab), which is also found intertidally around Britain and Ireland, so Pleurocrypta porcellanaelongicornis can be expected to occur intertidally too.
