Identification
Similar in appearance to, and found with Cylindrodesmus hirsutus, inside heated tropical glasshouses. However, it differs in being bright orange in life (but fades to off-white in alcohol) and has distinct paranota (bumps on the side of the body).
Distribution and Habitat
Specimens were collected from Eden Project, Cornwall in 2009 and 2010, where it was found inside the Rainforest Biome. Additional specimens were subsequently identified from material collected by the NHM in 2004 and 2005.
It is native to Indonesia in the South Pacific where it has been found among forest litter and guano in a cave.
