Geophilomorphs - forciples

The darkly pigmented Strigamia species are distinct in having an obvious prominent tooth (basal node) at the base of the poison claw. 

The small pallid species Schendyla dentata and Nothogeophilus turki also have a prominent basal tooth (and also a tooth on the femoroid below). 

Other Geophilomorph centipedes may have a small barely discernible basal node (but not a prominent tooth) or it is absent.
