Eyes in Lithobiomorph centipedes
Lamcytes spp. have the eye comprising of either a single ommatidium or eye absent.
Lithobius microps is readily distinguished by have 3 ommatidia arranged in a row.
All other Lithobius have the eye comprising at least 6 and up 40 ommatidia. The actual number and arrangement (pattern) of the ommatidia depends upon the species and can be useful in species identification.
