Identification

This is a very small woodlouse, reaching up to 3 mm, and is violaceous brown mottled with white in colour.  The three distinct flagella segments distinguish it from similar sized and shaped styloniscid woodlice (which have a tapering cone-shaped flagella with a terminal bristle.

Distribution and Habitat

It has been recorded from heated glasshouses at Kew Gardens, and subsequently found at Winlanton, Durham.

In the wild it is known from Mauritius and Réunion.
