Identification

Similar in appearance to, and found with Cylindrodesmus hirsutus, inside heated tropical glasshouses. However, it differs in being bright orange in life (but fades to off-white in alcohol) and has distinct paranota (bumps on the side of the body). 

It has been provisionally identified as Eutrichodesmus cf communicans Golovatch, Geoffroy, Mauriès & VandenSpiegel, 2009.

Distribution and Habitat

Specimens were collected from Eden Project, Cornwall in 2009 and 2010, where it was found inside the Rainforest Biome.
